Fields of Study
Dentists, who work to protect the health of society, achieve health goals and improve the quality of life, are an integral part of the health system. They diagnose and treat oral and dental health problems. Dentists have employment opportunities in state and university hospitals, private hospitals, dental prosthesis laboratories, private clinics, oral and dental health centers and dental hospitals. They can also work by opening their own clinics. Dentists who want to become academics can continue their education after graduation and work at universities.
About Lessons
The Dentistry Undergraduate Program offers undergraduate education and training with a broad and comprehensive curriculum prepared in accordance with the ADEE (Association Dental Education in Europe) Directives and Bologna criteria, aiming to make students well-equipped dentists with theoretical knowledge, practical skills and professional attitudes. The Dentistry program covers basic medical education as well as issues related to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases related to the mouth and surrounding tissues. In Dentistry education, the priority is to train individuals who comply with ethical rules, follow current scientific developments and have values that adopt service to society as a duty.
In the first two years of vocational training, students take basic medical and dentistry courses as well as pre-clinical vocational courses that develop their professional skills. Before starting clinical studies, our students are planned to get acquainted with virtual reality technology and receive training in a haptic simulator to start treating patients.
The 4th and 5th grades are the classes where clinical practice is given, as well as dentistry and medical courses.
In the undergraduate dentistry program; Dental Anatomy and Physiology, History of Dentistry, Prosthetic Dentistry I, Restorative Dentistry I, Endodontics I, Head and Neck Anatomy, Anatomy II, Dental Anesthesia, Pharmacology, Pathology, Prosthetic Dentistry II, Restorative Dentistry II, Endodontics II, Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology I, Periodontics I, Orthodontics I, Pediatric Dentistry I, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery I, Occlusion and Temporomandibular Joint, Prosthetic Dentistry III, Restorative Dentistry III, Preventive Dentistry Oral Diseases, Internal Medicine, Orthodontics II Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery II, Periodontics II, Ear, Nose and Throat, Psychology, Neurology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, First Aid and Emergency Aid, Forensic Medicine, Implantology, Community Oral and Dental Health, Ethics and Deontology in Dentistry are taught.
Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, Periodontics, Prosthetic Dentistry, Restorative Dentistry, Endodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics clinical applications are provided. In addition to the courses, it is also aimed to provide an interdisciplinary education with various elective courses to be offered throughout the undergraduate education. Students studying in this department complete the multidisciplinary clinical applications of the five-year education they receive and earn the title of Dentist.
