Overview

Earn a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at The University of Toledo in just five semesters. You will automatically qualify to apply for the national certification and state licenses. 

UToledo offers broad foundational course work and specialized, evidence-based training in the assessment and treatment of communication disorders.  

Clinical practicum is an integral part of the curriculum. Speech-Language Pathology graduate students have more than 550 hours of clinical practicum related to treatment approaches and techniques they learn in the classroom.

UToledo's Speech-Language Pathology program has options for part-time enrollment, online continuing-education courses and intensive, specialty clinical training in the summer. Our graduate students are prepared to work as school Speech-Language Pathologists. 


On-campus clinics.

Graduate students get hands-on training and provide speech therapy services to local children in UToledo's Speech-Language Hearing Clinic. Students are supervised by certified, licensed clinicians.


Quality teaching.

All Speech-Language Pathology graduate faculty are ASHA-certified and involved with clinical and research activities.  


National accreditation.

The Master of Arts (M.A.) education program in Speech-Language Pathology (residential) at The University of Toledo is accredited (March 1, 2022-February 28, 2030) by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), 2200 Research Boulevard #310, Rockville, Maryland 20850, 800-498-2071 or 301-296-5700, and provides the educational and clinical experiences required for certification and/or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
