Overview
Discover philosophy. The academic study of philosophy is the pursuit of the fundamental truths about people, the world they inhabit and their relationships to each other. Philosophy majors thoughtfully dissect questions such as, "Do our perceptions represent the way things really are?" "What can science tell us about the true nature of the world?" "Does my identity persist through time?" "Do I have free will?" or "How should I live?" Learn to analyze many points of view on life's most important mysteries and the arguments that have been offered for them. Students develop skills in verbal and written communication, problem-solving, clear, and disciplined thinking, and persuasive argumentation. This Bachelor of Arts prepares students for fulfilling work in business, government, and the law. It may even inspire you to do graduate work in philosophy!
