Overview
Accounting BSc (Hons) will provide you with a high level of technical knowledge to underpin your future career as a chartered accountant. It provides a focused UK higher education academic experience strongly linked to accounting in a practical environment and to the role of finance trained staff working in a variety of roles within the economy.
The aim of the programme is to balance theoretical knowledge with practical application to allow you to develop a critical and questioning approach to the wide range of issues and opportunities faced by accountants in their working environment. It will allow you to understand the conceptual underpinnings of the various areas associated with the role accounting plays in everyday business.

This programme and the exemptions obtained allow you to benefit from a reduction in the time and the cost involved with qualifying as Chartered Certified Accountants. Completion of the programme will gain you eight exemptions from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), as well as exemptions from CIMA. You will also have the opportunity to experience student life as part of the larger accounting and finance department in a vibrant, global focused university.
Entry criteria
This is a top-up programme only available to students who have undertaken the equivalent of 240 credits at levels 4 and 5.
English language
If English is not your first language, an IELTS core of 6.0 (including a minimum of 5.5 in each component) or equivalent is normally required.
