WHY STUDY THIS PROGRAM?
The Millersville University Wehrheim School of Nursing builds upon its robust RN to BSN programs with several graduate-level offerings to help health professionals continue their education through a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree and multiple certifications.
The MU Wehrheim School of Nursing has offered a highly regarded MSN degree program since 1992 for those who wish to pursue an advanced practice role. Master's students have several options, including the Family/Individual Across the Lifespan Nurse Practitioner, Nursing Education, Nursing Leadership, and School Nursing programs.
The DNP program is designed for busy registered nurses who already have a master's degree in a related area, such as MSN, MPH and others to build upon previous graduate education and healthcare experience. The program prepares individuals to lead healthcare change and translate evidence into practice, collaborate intra-professionally to improve patient care outcomes, as well as advocate and provide leadership for health policy.
All the graduate programs offered at Millersville are fully accredited by the National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
The MU Wehrheim School of Nursing also offers a post-master's Family/Individual Across the Lifespan Nurse Practitioner certificate and a School Nurse certificate. The post-master's certification is designed to provide individuals who already hold an MSN degree with the core courses and clinical experience necessary for eligibility for family nurse practitioner certification. The school nurse certification is a post-baccalaureate program designed for the BSN wishing to gain certification through Pennsylvania Department of Education for school nursing.
