Today’s media world of live concerts, television, film, web casting, and theatre incorporates vast amounts of complex technology combined with the artistic demands, discipline, and dedication of armies of employees. Now and in the foreseeable future, those students who are equipped with the balance of technology and the performing arts and all the related problem-solving skills will be in demand. Pursuing the Bachelor of Arts Degree (B.A,) in Entertainment Technology is the ideal opportunity to offer combined training in the entertainment arts, computer, and industrial technology disciplines that several industry sectors consider high demand areas. The experiential learning, production collaboration opportunities, with internships and support from our industry partners, prepare students for the exciting and lucrative range of professions.
WHY STUDY THIS PROGRAM?
Those in the B.A. Entertainment Technology program will be offered opportunities to collaborate with their colleague artists in music, theatre, broadcasting, and media: all the performing arts. The program culminates with both a “capstone” to provide portfolio development; and internships to be connected directly with prospective employers in the industry.
Millersville University is privileged to have relationships with our industry partners for internships, particularly with our nearby colleagues at the world-renowned entertainment complex: Rock Lititz. Partners there include Clair Global, Atomic Design, and Tait Towers. Our students also have internship opportunities with several other nearby film and media studios, theatres, and production companies.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
Collaboration between entertainment arts and technology practitioners.
Integrating the latest entertainment technology into performing arts events.
Designing and implementing Lighting, Sound, Scenery, Video, etc. for the full range of performing arts.
Structural, electrical and occupational safety.
Supervising and/or working skills with diverse production crews in various entertainment trades.
Documenting your work for production and/or portfolio.
